Five Terriers scored on the afternoon

RICHMOND, Va. – Five Terriers found the back of the net in Richmond, Va., though, the 19th-ranked Richmond Spiders would cruise to a 19-6 victory over Wofford at Robins Stadium on Sunday afternoon. Juniors Leah Hurley and Brenna Duley paced Wofford's attack with two points apiece, as the Terriers slip to 1-5 overall.

Seniors Shannon Wulff, Elisabeth Ralph and junior Emma Krasinski round out Wofford's goal scorers, while Krasinski and Emma Gentile led the Terriers with two draw controls each. Sophomore Addison Witkowski scooped up two ground balls, in addition to a draw control and caused turnover, while Gentile and senior Abbi Pagano also recorded caused turnovers each. Senior Moira Carroll added a ground ball and draw control.

Despite the loss, junior goalie Aislinn Washburn matched a season-high 11 saves, while causing two turnovers and corralling two ground balls.

A 16-3 draw control advantage through the first 30 minutes of action pioneered the nationally-ranked Spiders to a 15-3 halftime lead, though, the Terriers competed hard in the second half with just a 4-3 differential for the final 30. Additionally, Richmond finished with the edge in shots, 35-17, and ground balls, 19-8.
