BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. – Senior attacker
Elisabeth Ralph matched a season-high five goal performance, eclipsing 20 goals for the season, to lead the Wofford women's lacrosse team in a 16-7Â loss to Big South foe Gardner-Webb (6-6, 2-2Â Big South) at Spangler Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The loss moves Wofford to 3-8 overall and 1-3 in league play.

Ralph connected for five goals on seven shots-on-goal, in addition to a draw control and ground ball, to move to a team-high 21 goals on the season. The feat marks the third time in her career Ralph has exceeded 20 goals in a season.

Junior
Olivia Abé, who leads the Terriers with 25 points on the year, and sophomore
Shadan Bankston added goals, while juniors
Emma Gentile and
Brenna Duley facilitated assists. Gentile added four draw controls in the match.

Emma Krasinski led with a team-high five draw controls to pair with two ground balls, while freshman midfielder
Carley Irvin added four draw controls and a ground ball.
Kirsten Flannigan recorded two ground balls and a caused turnover, followed by caused turnovers from
Emma Seif and
Addison Witkowski.
Aislinn Washburn finished with seven saves inside the crease.

Wofford hung with the Runnin' Bulldogs in the first quarter prior to an 8-1 second-quarter outburst from Gardner-Webb dominating to take control of the match with an 11-2 halftime margin.

The Terriers finished strong in the fourth quarter, outscoring Gardner-Webb 4-1 behind a trio of
Elisabeth Ralph goals and a late
Shadan Bankston score to close the match at 17-6.

The Terriers finished with a 16-9 draw control edge for the match, though, Gardner-Webb tallied 35 shots to Wofford's 28 – including a 24-18 shot-on-goal margin.

Next, Wofford (3-8, 1-3 Big South) is back on the road in Macon, Ga., on Wednesday, April 13, when it travels to face Mercer for a 4 p.m. tilt at Five Star Stadium.
