SPARTANBURG, S.C. – A goal in the 86th minute by
Ansley Elizalde saved the season opener for Wofford women's soccer, playing to a 2-2 draw against UNC Asheville.

The Terriers offense struck early as
Ashley Grant found the back of the net just over two minutes into the match. Wofford controlled the remainder of the half, with a 6-3 shot and 5-0 corner advantage, but the 1-0 Wofford lead held steady going into halftime.

Asheville opened the second half with a tying goal at the 68-minute mark after Taylor Gardner snuck one past the Terrier defense. Four minutes later, the Bulldogs took the lead after an Azalea Mihailovich penalty kick sailed into the corner of the goal.

With just over three minutes left in the match, the Terriers finally were able to break through again after
Kylie Morris found Elizalde, who scored the equalizing goal.
