CHARLESTON S.C. – The Wofford women's soccer team earned its second-straight road win after defeating Charleston Southern 2-1 Sunday afternoon. The win moves Wofford's record to 5-3-1 as the team now prepares for SoCon play.
The Terriers found themselves trailing early, as Fiama Hidalgo put the Buccaneers up 1-0 just one minute into the match.
Wofford answered back at the 28:37 mark when
Alexis Mapplebeck found the back of the net off a pass from
Ashley Grant, tying the game 1-1 with 16 minutes left in the half. Grant had a chance to put Wofford in front at the 30th minute, but the shot was saved keeping the score at 1-1, which remained the same through halftime.
The Terriers netted their second goal at the 50th minute when
Mia Bookhard sent a shot past the CSU defense, giving Wofford a 2-1 lead with 40 minutes remaining in the match.
Caroline Doss and the Terrier defense shut down the Buccaneer attack the rest of the way, with Doss recorded two huge saves in the 84th and 85th minutes.

Doss recorded five saves for the Terriers.
Both sides had nine shots while Wofford had a slight 7-6 shots on goal advantage.
