Box Score CULLOWHEE N.C. – The Wofford women's soccer dropped a 0-3 road contest to Western Carolina in the Southern Conference season opener. The loss moves the Terriers' record to 5-4-1 (0-1 SoCon).

In the first half, Wofford was out-shot 1-4, with
Saachi Bureau recording the lone shot in the half. Western Carolina netted its first goal at the 7:40 mark when Sophie Burchfield snuck a shot past the Terrier defense.

The Terriers had a chance to cut into the lead in the second half with a shot from
Megan Childress, but the shot was saved by the Western goalkeeper. The Catamounts struck for their second goal of the contest in the 66th minute, extending the lead to 2-0.

Mia Bookhard had a chance to put the Terriers on the board in the 82nd minute, but her shot was saved keeping to deficit at two.

WCU netted one final goal with just over a minute remaining in the match.
