Women's Soccer Shuts Down ETSU on Road

JOHNSON CITY, T.N. – The Wofford women's soccer team blanked ETSU 1-0 on the road earning the team's first SoCon win of the season. The win moves the Terriers' record to 6-4-1, and an even 1-1 in SoCon play.

The weather was far from cooperative right before the start of the match, with two separate weather delays resulting in a two and a half hour delayed start.

Wofford's offense came out firing once the match got started, out-shooting the Buccaneers 7-4 in the first half. Ansley Elizalde nearly got the Terriers on the board first, but her shot sailed off the crossbar. The two sides stayed scoreless through halftime.

Mia Bookhard got the offense clicking with a goal off a pass from Megan Childress four minutes into the second half, giving the Terriers a 1-0 lead.

The Wofford defense came up big the rest of the way, with Caroline Doss making two huge saves in the 79th and 80th minutes.

The Terrier defense shut down the ETSU attack the final 10 minutes, securing the win for Wofford.

Quick Hits
Bookhard netted her second goal of the season.
Doss recorded six saves in the shutout.
This marks the fourth clean sheet of the season for Doss.
