Women’s Soccer Plays To A Draw Against Furman

SPARTANBURG S.C. – Caroline Doss made nine saves as the Wofford women's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Furman at Snyder Field. The tie moves the Terriers' record to 6-4-2 on the season and 1-1-1 in SoCon play.
 
Doss went to work early in goal, saving an early shot from Furman four minutes into the match. The Terriers had back-to-back chances in the 23rd minute with shots from Mia Bookhard and Leanna Guion, but both shots went high.
 
Meara Kelly had Wofford's lone shot on goal in the first half at the 37:37 minute mark, but couldn't sneak the ball past the Paladin keeper. Furman went into the half winning the shot battle 8-4.

Wofford had another opportunity to get on the board in the 64th minute, but Guion's shot was saved in the bottom left corner. 
 
Doss was able to keep the game scoreless with two key saves in the 78th and 80th minutes.
 
The Terriers had the final chance to score in the match just shy of the 87th minute, but Sydney Holland's shot sailed wide right.
 
Quick Hits
Wofford recorded its fifth shutout of the season, with Doss collecting each clean sheet.
The Paladins out-shot Wofford 20-7 and 9-3 in shots on goal.
Furman held a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
With the tie, Wofford moves to 7-24-3 all-time against Furman.
