Women’s Lacrosse falls to Mercer 21-10

Wofford hosted the Mercer Bears on Wednesday, the Terriers fought back from an eight-goal halftime deficit to 14-10 after three quarters. Mercer was able to pull away late, winning the final quarter 8-0.

The Terriers were led with three goals from Addison Witkowski and two goals from Carley Irvin and Emma Stalteri. Brenna Duley added a goal and an assist, while Emma Krasinski and Caitlin Cardillo added one goal each.

Mercer got 11 goals from Shannon Urey in the game.
Kate Vanderlinde got the win in net for Mercer, Aislinn Washburn got the loss.

The game started scoreless for the first 7:34 before Mercer opened the scoring. The Bears lead would get to 4-0 before Witkowski opened the scoring for the Terriers. Mercer added two more to lead 6-1 after one quarter.

In the second quarter Wofford got goals from Stalteri, Duley, Witkowski and Kraskinski. Mercer added seven in the second quarter to lead 13-5 at the break.

The second half opened up with a goal for the Bears to make the game 14-5. Wofford then responded with five straight goals to end the quarter down 14-10. In the third

Irvin added two, while Cardillo, Stalteri and Irvin added one each.

In the fourth quarter Mecrer was able to outscore the Terriers 7-0 to get the final score to 21-10.

The Wofford Terriers will stay at home as they take on the Gardner-Webb Runnin' Bulldogs at 1 P.M. on Saturday. The game will be Wofford's Senior Day as they will honor all 10 seniors before the game.
