ATLANTA, Ga. – The Wofford College men's tennis team opened the spring season at Georgia Tech on Sunday afternoon. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Terriers 7-0 at the Ken Byers Tennis Complex.
In doubles, the Yellow Jackets took the #3 position 6-1 and then the Terriers pairing of
Robbie Young and
Will Fullett at #2 earned a 6-2 win. At the #1 position, Georgia Tech had a 6-4 win to claim the doubles point.
Georgia Tech won the #1, #2, #4, #5 and #6 singles matches in straight sets. At #3 singles,
Will Fullett dropped the first set 4-6, but won the second set 6-3. The third set tiebreak was won 10-7 by Richard Biagiotti of the Yellow Jackets, who is ranked #85 in the nation.
Wofford will travel to Stetson on Sunday, February 4, for a noon match. The home opener will be on Thursday, February8, at 2:30 p.m. against UNC Asheville.
