CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Wofford College rifle team opened the season on Saturday morning against MIT at the DuPont Rifle Range. The Terriers defeated the Engineers by a 4,494 to 4,339 score.
Wofford was led by freshman
Oliver Guthrie, who in his first collegiate match was the top individual with an aggregate score of 1,131. Guthrie had the top overall score in air rifle at 578 with 31 centers.
Garett Dall was second overall at 1,129 and he had the top individual score in small bore at 556 with 21 centers. Dall's aggregate score was a career-best.
Ansely-Brooke Springer was third at 1,121.
Chanson Bullard had a 1,113 to place fifth, as she posted a career-best in small bore and aggregate.
Charlie Yang had a 1,060 for eighth place and
Allie Grace Frank had a 546 in air rifle only.
The Terriers will compete on Saturday, November 2, in Lexington, Virginia, against VMI and John Jay.
