October 8, 2024
Over the past ten days, the Wofford community has shown tremendous resilience in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. It has been a difficult time for our students, faculty, and staff and we are thankful there was comparatively minor damage to the campus in relation to the surrounding area. Our athletic teams took the lead in cleaning up campus on Monday, Sept. 30, which was appreciated by the grounds crew as they continue to work around the clock to return the campus to normal. In the coming weeks, we will host the UNC Asheville cross country team and women's golf team, along with the Montreat basketball team, as they have been displaced. We look forward to having them at Wofford.
DONATION DRIVE THIS WEEK
Wofford Athletics will collect donations at home events this week, including the upcoming Family Weekend football game against VMI, for those dealing with the effects of Hurricane Helene in the Upstate and Western North Carolina. Terrier fans are encouraged to bring water, non-perishable food items, toiletries, baby items, cleaning/sanitation items, and pet food to the women's soccer game (Oct. 10), the football game (Oct. 12), the men's soccer game (Oct.12) and the women's soccer game (Oct. 13). All items will be delivered to the Spartanburg Soup Kitchen for distribution.

FALL SPORTS CONTINUE
The fall season is in full swing with our teams entering SoCon play. The women's soccer team is 5-7-1, already matching the win total from last season. The men's soccer team is 4-2-1 after a home win over Gardner-Webb. In volleyball, the Terriers are 11-5 overall, including a huge home win over Tennessee. Football has played three teams ranked in the Top 15 this season and are 2-3 so far. The men's and women's cross country teams run at the Upstate Invitational on Oct. 19. Both tennis teams and both golf teams are taking part in fall tournaments as well.
A DAY FOR WOFFORD
The 2024 "A Day for Wofford" is being postponed because of Hurricane Helene. Our plan is to reschedule for Thursday, Nov. 14. This collective day of giving will be even more important because of the devastation on campus from Hurricane Helene. This is a 24-hour giving event to celebrate the collective impact of Terriers. Gifts can be made to the Terrier Club, Excellence Funds, and/or scholarship funds. Visit wofford.edu/adfw to give!
