It is hard to believe how fast the summer went by, and fall sports are already back in action! Both the men's and women's soccer teams have opened their seasons, with football and volleyball beginning this week. Cross country will have its first race next week. We had a great time at our annual fall sports Fan Fest on August 7, with autograph signings and food and fun for everyone. We look forward to having everyone experience Terrier Town before the football game on August 29 and be sure to stay until the end of the game for postgame fireworks!

 

 











FOOTBALL HOME OPENER
We look forward to opening the 2026 football season at home on Saturday, August 29, at Gibbs Stadium. Putting together a football schedule is a complex puzzle, with non-conference game contracts often signed a decade in advance. This year, the NCAA made a move that allows FCS teams to play 12 games every season to align more closely with the FBS, with a standardized start date. In addition, the Southern Conference welcomed Tennessee Tech to the league, which meant schedule changes to accommodate both a 12^th game and Tennessee Tech. While playing a home game before classes start at Wofford is not ideal, we appreciate the efforts made by our partners all across campus to make the game a part of orientation activities, in addition to allowing upperclassmen return early.
 
TERRIER TOWN RETURNS
After a successful debut in 2025, "Terrier Town" will be back and even better than before! Stop by to enjoy inflatables, yard games, music, vendors, giveaways, and so much more. We are kicking off Terrier Town in style with a concert from The Lawson Brothers Band. The concert will be held inside Terrier Town from 3:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. "Terrier Town" will be open three hours before each game and close at kickoff. Click here for more information and tickets.
 
ACADEMIC SUCCESS
This year Wofford set a record with 328 student-athletes named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll, which ranked second in the league. We also had 118 student-athletes named to the Fall and Spring Academic All-Conference team, which was also the second-most in the league. There were 22 Terriers with a perfect 4.0 GPA this academic year. In addition, men's and women's tennis, volleyball, baseball, women's lacrosse, men's and women's track, and rifle earned team academic honors from their respective coaching organizations.
 
NEW STAFF ADDITIONS
Over the summer, we welcomed several new staff members to the Wofford athletics family. Gabriel Ballard is our new director of compliance, while Kalvin Betz is the assistant director of the Terrier Club. Kobi Everett (creative content) and Avery Plummer (video services) moved from interns to full-time positions, and Connor Ferares is our new director of marketing. We also have a new class of interns, including Dakota Hawxwell (creative content), J.J. Hernon (athletic communications), Kayleigh Kiah (Terrier Club), Andy Lin (creative content), Leah Patenotte (athletic communications), Michael Salvary (marketing), and Gary Wenzel (video production).
 
NEW TICKETING PLATFORM
We have moved to a new ticketing platform, which makes the process of renewing or purchasing even easier. By moving to this new platform, our fans and donors will be able to complete all transactions in one place, including parking and Terrier Club donations. In addition, basketball season ticket renewals can be handled at the same time as football renewals. All tickets will continue to be digital. BASKETBALL SCHEDULES ANNOUNCED
The 2026-27 men's and women's basketball schedules have been announced. The men will play a 32-game slate, featuring 16 games inside of Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The schedule is split into 12 non-conference games and 20 Southern Conference matchups. For the women, they will have a 29-game schedule with 12 contests hosted inside Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Season tickets are available now at https://woffordterriers.com/tickets , while single-game tickets will go on sale in October.
 
HOMECOMING EXHIBITION VERSUS VIRGINIA TECH
The men's basketball team has announced that it will host Virginia Tech on Friday, October 16, at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium as part of Homecoming Weekend activities. The exhibition contest will not be a part of season ticket packages and tickets are on sale now! Wofford student tickets will be available for purchase in September. The game marks the return of Virginia Tech head coach Mike Young to Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium, who led the Terriers to five Southern Conference Championships and five NCAA Tournament appearances (2010, 2011, 2014, 2015, and 2019). COMPLETE HOMECOMING EVENT SCHEDULE
The Office of Philanthropy and Engagement has a big weekend planned for Homecoming 2026. In addition to the football game against VMI, the men's basketball game against Virginia Tech, and a home men's soccer game, there will be "A Night on Campus Drive," reunions for classes that end in '1 or '6, and plenty of other events.  For the complete list of Homecoming Weekend activities and to register, please visit here.  
 
TERRIER CLUB UPDATE
We continue to make progress on our goal for 2026. CONSTRUCTION PROJECT UPDATE
Two big projects have been completed, and we continue to make progress on a third. The dedication of the Robby Atkins Performance Center at the Joe E. Taylor Center will be held on Sept. 1 at 11:30 a.m. The dedication will be part of an exciting day for our student-athletes as they gather for a group photo, will get to hear from Dr. Jay Dowd, and enjoy our annual back-to-campus picnic as well. Wofford volleyball has a new Taraflex competition court, which was installed in August. This high-performance surface will improve player safety, reduce injury risk, and elevate the overall student-athlete experience. The final project is the indoor baseball and softball hitting and pitching lab, which has progressed over the summer with the completion of electrical and IT infrastructure. Nets and turf are being installed this week with the goal of opening in early September.
