LEXINGTON, Va. – The Wofford College rifle team traveled to VMI on Saturday to compete against the Keydets and John Jay at Kilbourne Hall. In the first match with the Terriers against the VMI mixed team and John Jay, Wofford was second. The second match was against the VMI women's team, with Wofford falling 4563 to 4487.
Wofford was led by freshman
Oliver Guthrie with an aggregate score of 1,145 in his second career meet. Guthrie had the top score in both air rifle (576) and small bore (569) for the Terriers.
Garett Dall had an aggregate of 1,113, which included a career-best of 562 in small bore.
Ansely-Brooke Springer had an aggregate of 1,109, while
Chanson Bullard had an 1,100 that included a career-best 567 in air rifle.
Charlie Yang posted a career-best aggregate of 1,097 and
Maeghan Springer had a 514 in air rifle only in her first career match.
The Terriers will compete on Saturday, November 9, at the University of North Georgia to close out the fall segment of the schedule.
