Wofford Announces 2025 Football Schedule

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford College has announced the 2025 football schedule, which features home games against Richmond and Norfolk State and Southern Conference foes Western Carolina, Furman, Samford, and Chattanooga. The Terriers will also visit Virginia Tech.

The Terriers will begin the season with a visit to South Carolina State. The Bulldogs were 9-3 last season to win the MEAC and were defeated in the Celebration Bowl by Jackson State. The last meeting between the teams was in 2019, which was also played in Orangeburg.

Wofford will complete a home-and-home series with Richmond on September 6 at Gibbs Stadium. The Spiders were 10-3 last season and posted an 8-0 record in the CAA to win the league title. Last season, Wofford earned a 26-19 win at Richmond.

Southern Conference play begins on September 13, as the Terriers will visit Mercer. The Bears were 11-3 overall last season, which included a 7-1 mark in the SoCon to earn the league title. They won a second-round NCAA FCS Playoff game before falling to eventual national champion North Dakota State.

On September 20, the Terriers will travel to Virginia Tech. This will be the second meeting between the schools, as the Hokies picked up a 27-7 win in the 2022 season. They were 6-7 last season and were defeated in the Duke's Mayo Bowl by Minnesota to close out the year.

After an open date on September 27, the Terriers begin a stretch of three straight home games. On October 4, Wofford will host Western Carolina. The Catamounts have won the last four meetings in the series, including a 21-17 contest in Cullowhee last season.

Wofford will welcome Norfolk State to Gibbs Stadium on October 11 as part of Homecoming Weekend activities. The Spartans will be led by former NFL quarterback Michael Vick in his first season as a head coach. Last season they were 4-8 overall.

Returning to Southern Conference play, the Terriers host Furman on October 18. Last season the Terriers earned a 19-13 win over the Paladins in Greenville. Wofford has won seven of the last ten meetings between the two teams in a rivalry that dates back to 1889.

On October 25, Wofford will travel to East Tennessee State. The Bucs posted a 7-5 overall record last season. They were ranked in the top 25 when the two teams met last season. Will Healy is entering his first season as head coach with the Bucs.

The Terriers will be back home on November 1 to host Samford, with the game a part of Family Weekend at Wofford. Last season the Terriers earned a 17-13 win in Birmingham, the first win by Wofford in the series since 2014. Overall, the Bulldogs were 4-7 on the season.
Back-to-back road trips to VMI and The Citadel are next on the schedule. The Terriers will visit VMI on November 8. Wofford has won two of the last three meetings against the Keydets, who were 1-11 on the season. The series against The Citadel will continue on November 15 in Charleston. Both teams posted the same overall and SoCon records last season.

The final home game of the regular season will see Chattanooga visit Gibbs Stadium on November 22. The Mocs were 7-5 overall in 2024 and ranked in the top 25 for the majority of the season.
