Men’s Golf Closes Play at the Bryson Invitational

CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Wofford men's golf team closed out play at the Bryson Invitational on Wednesday afternoon at the par-72 Daniel Island Club in Charleston, South Carolina. The Terriers shone in round two with three Terriers hitting under-par, but Wofford secured 15th place overall result by an 880 score. Senior Ben Jordan led the way for the Terriers in 29th with his one-under par 215 marker.

Wofford opened play with a 295 at the three-day event before making a comeback to record a 284 to close out round two on Tuesday. A 301 completed play in the closing round as the Terriers carded an 880 to place 15th. Vanderbilt won the 15-team field with a score of 834, with their top finisher Ryan Downes taking first place with a 13-under par 203 marker. Downes was one stroke ahead of the runners-up, Ryan Ford of Cincinnati and Ethan Evans of Duke.

Ben Jordan was the top Terrier in the event with a score of 215 at one-under par. Jordan posted a 74 in the first round before he came back to shoot three-under par with a 69 to cap off round two. Jordan concluded round three to par as he secured his spot for 29th place. This is Jordan's second top 30 finish of the season.

Major Lenning and Andrew Aquino finished the event with a score of 221 at five-over to place tied for 63rd. Lenning carded a 75 in the first round before he shot two-under par to finish round two with a 70, a new career low. Aquino opened his first round with a 73 before he carded a 71 to close off round two. He returned the next day to record a 77 in round three.

Freshman Andrew Neal opened his third collegiate event with a score of 226 at ten-over. Neal started round one with a 74 before he returned in round two with a 76. He finished with another 76 to place in the 80th spot. The last Terrier in the event was senior Will Jones, who finished with a score of 233 at 17-over. Jones opened the first two rounds with a solid 74, just two-over par. He returned to the closing round with an 85 to cap off the event in 83rd place.

The Terriers will tee off one last time as the fall season comes to an end at the two-day Furman Intercollegiate slated for October 18-19.
