GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Wofford volleyball team lost 3-0 in what was the regular season finale against UNCG at Bodford Arena on Saturday night. The Terriers finish the regular season with a 14-13 overall record and a 10-6 mark in the SoCon. UNCG improves to 16-11, 9-7.

The Terriers posted a .130 hitting percentage on 38 kills, while UNCG finished the match with 38 kills on a .298 percentage. Wofford had 34 assists to 35 by UNCG. On the defensive end, Wofford had 45 digs, and UNCG had 50. The Spartans posted five blocks compared to just three by Wofford.

Set one saw Wofford jump out to an early lead, but UNCG would rattle off a 7-0 run to take full control of the stanza. That seven-point spurt was the beginning of what would be a 16-5 momentum swing for the Spartans. UNCG would go on to take set one 25-14.

UNCG had the momentum at the start of set two until Wofford scored four-straight points to take a 4-2 lead. The Terriers would keep the Spartans at bay over the next few rallies, holding a 9-6 lead after a
Maddy Frazier dump. UNCG fought back towards the latter half of the set, tying the team 20-all. The Spartans would go on to take set two 26-24. Â

Set three was all UNCG from the start, scoring four consecutive points to begin the stanza.
Bradley Brown tallied back-to-back points to end the Wofford skid, along with a
Natalie Arnold kill to cut the deficit to two points. UNCG responded, however, scoring seven unanswered points to give the team a comfortable lead. The Spartans would go on to win the set and take the match.

The Terriers close out the regular season with a 14-13 record and a 10-6 mark in the SoCon. The team will compete in the Southern Conference Tournament on November 20-23. Official game times and opponents will be released in the coming days.
