Maximus Pulley was named the Defensive Player of the Week and Wofford punter
Cavan Craig was named the Special Teams Player of the Week. The awards are selected by the league office.
Craig, a second-year freshman from Charleston, S.C., punted a career-high nine times in the win over Samford. He averaged 38.1 yards per punt, with five of the nine punts inside the 20-yard line. In the second half, one punt was downed at the two-yard line and another was downed at the one-yard line. This is his first Player of the Week honor and the first Special Teams Player of the Week honor for the team since Atkins Roberts on Sept. 4, 2023.
Pulley, a fifth-year senior from Fort Worth, Texas, had a pair of interceptions in the first quarter against Samford, with one returned 25 yards for a touchdown. The other interception was returned to the 17-yard line, setting up a Wofford touchdown for a 14-7 lead. He added seven tackles in the victory. This is the first Player of the Week honor of his career, and it is the third Defensive Player of the Week honor for the team this season.
Wofford will visit VMI on Saturday, November 3, at 1:30 p.m.
