GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Wofford volleyball team fell to the Furman Paladins 3-1 on Thursday night inside of Alley Gymnasium. The Terriers fall to 13-11, 9-4, while Furman improves to 18-7, 9-4.

Wofford totaled 44 kills while hitting .154. Furman had 51 kills and hit .280. The Terriers dished out 41 assists to 44 by Furman. Wofford finished with seven blocks compared to 12 by Furman. The Paladins had 62 digs, and Wofford had 51.

Furman gained control early in set one, taking a 7-3 lead.
Bradley Brown ended the Wofford skid with a kill, and
Chloe Smith put one away on the following rally to get Wofford within striking distance. The Terriers gained some momentum from there, going up 13-11 later in the set. Furman kept fighting, however, coming back to take an 18-16 advantage. Wofford would fall in set one 27-25.

The Terriers came out firing in set two as the team took a quick 4-0 lead. Furman snuck a point in, but Wofford used that four-point start to go on a 7-1 run. The Terriers kept the pressure on, going up 12-5 before Furman had to burn a timeout. Wofford would continue to dominate and take set two 25-10.

Wofford led 3-0 to start set three before Furman got on the board. It was back-and-forth from there until the Paladins found a bit of breathing room. Furman would lead 19-15 and force Wofford to take a timeout. The Terriers could not complete the comeback, losing set three 25-20.

Bradley Brown opened set four with a kill, but Furman responded right away with an equalizer. From there Furman would go on a 12-1 run to take control of the fourth stanza. The Paladins would take set four 25-4 and win the match 3-1.

The Terriers will travel to Georgia to take on Mercer on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. The team will be on the road next week as well to close out the regular season.
