BANDON, Ore. – The Wofford men's golf team finished play on Tuesday in Bandon, Oregon, at the par-71 Pacific Dunes course Bandon Dunes Collegiate. The Terriers finished in seventh place with an 864 score at 12-over par.
Charles Warren led the Terriers tied for 23
rd place, finishing with a 214 one-over score.
The Terriers opened on Sunday, March 8, with a 284 in the first round before carding a 286 and 294 to finish seventh out of 15 teams. Oregon State came out on top in the 15-team field, finishing with an 821 to place first. Oregon State's Nguyen Anh Minh took first place with a 200 13-under score. The Terriers finished with the fifth best par 5 average, with 4.75 and tied for the fifth best par 3 average with 3.11. Wofford also had the most eagles with four, two each from
Ben Jordan and
Andrew Neal.
Charles Warren was the top Terrier and he started day one with one-under with a 70, before carding a 72 in rounds two and three. Warren finished tied with the sixth most pars in the tournament with 36.
Ben Jordan followed one stroke behind Warren to card a 215 two-over score. Jordan started round one even with 71 before carding a solid 69 to end round two. Jordan would finish the final round with a 75 to place tied for 30
th. Jordan finished tied for the best par 3 average with a 2.80 and would finish tied for the most eagles with two.
Freshman
Andrew Neal finished tied for 35
th with a 217 four-over par score. Neal started round one with a solid two-under 69 before carding a 74 in rounds two and three. Neal tied with Jordan with the most eagles in two.
Glover Amick would place right behind Neal tied for 40
th place with a 218 five-over par score. Amick carded a 74 in the first round before coming back to card even with a 71 in the second round. Amick would finish with a 73. Amick tied for the second most pars in the tournament with 37.
Will Brown would finish tied for 82
nd place with a 228 15-over par. Brown would card 76-75-77 to end the tournament.
Will Jones competed as the only individual Terrier carding a 221 eight-over par to finish tied for 51
st place. Jones would card a 74-74-73 to end his play at the Pacific Dunes.
The Terriers will be back in action starting on Friday, March 20, as they take on the Linger Longer Invitational in Lake Oconee, Georgia.
