MACON, Ga. – The Wofford College softball team fell 2-1 in the series finale at Mercer on Sunday afternoon. The Terriers drop to 24-8 with a 3-3 mark in conference play.

Abby Greenwood received the start in the series finale, pitching a full six innings in the loss. Greenwood falls to 10-2 on the year after allowing two runs on six hits with four strikeouts.
Addison Lucier led the team offensively, going 3-of-4 at the plate with one RBI.
Rivers Sampson finished the day 2-of-4. The Terriers out hit Mercer 8-6 but left 11 runners on base. Mercer recorded one error while Wofford had zero.

Mercer once again started the game off hot, hitting an early home run to take a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Wofford answered in the top of the second, however, tying the game at one-all.
Kaytlin Greenwood started the inning off with an infield single. Greenwood would eventually advance to third thanks to a hit from
Kate Platte. With two outs,
Addison Lucier was able to drive in Greenwood off a single to right field. Both teams went scoreless in the third inning, but Mercer was able to score in the fourth, giving the team a 2-1 lead. Wofford was able to load the bases in the top of the seventh but could not score a run. The Terriers would lose the rubber match 2-1.

The Terriers will return home from their eight-game road stint to host Samford on April 3-4. The team is set to play doubleheader on Friday, April 3, and will close out the series on Saturday, April 4.
