As April comes to a close, we still have a full slate of action for our spring teams. Women's lacrosse hosted a Big South Tournament game on Tuesday after a third-place finish in the league – the highest ever – and advanced to the semifinals this Friday. Baseball continues to shine on the diamond with 30 wins for the eighth-straight season. Softball has reached the 30-win mark as well and will host Western Carolina this weekend for the last series of the regular season before the SoCon Tournament in Chattanooga. Track has already seen multiple records fall in the outdoor season, with the championship coming up on May 11 and 12 at Western Carolina. We were also excited to watch Andrew Novak compete in his first Masters, along with a great performance at the RBC Heritage at Hilton Head, with many Terriers there to cheer him on.
2026 EXCELLENCE GAMES RECAP
The 2026 Excellence Games on April 22 were a tremendous success, benefiting all 20 of our sports programs. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we raised over $150,000 for Wofford Athletics, a 54% increase from last year. Baseball led the way with the highest number of donors, while women's soccer, men's basketball, and women's basketball each unlocked key bonus funds. During the entire Excellence Games appeal, Wofford Athletics raised over $190,000 in total, including pledges, with support from 896 donors. Three donors went above and beyond by contributing to all 16 Excellence Funds. You can continue to make an impact on our student-athletes by supporting the Terrier Club at any time by clicking the link below.

FOOTBALL SEASON TICKETS ON SALE
The beginning of the 2026 Wofford football season is just around the corner, and season tickets will go on sale on Friday, May 1. Season ticket prices remain the same as last year. We have moved to a new ticketing platform, which will make the process of renewing or purchasing even easier. All season ticket holders from 2025 will be receiving an email with renewal details. By moving to this new platform, our fans and donors will be able to complete all transactions in one place, including parking and Terrier Club donations. In addition, basketball season ticket renewals can be handled at the same time as football renewals. All tickets will continue to be digital.
TERRIER CLUB GIFT
We are incredibly grateful to the estate of the late Lon "Hugh" '58 and Kathy West for their extraordinary generosity. Season ticket holders for decades, their $3.1 million estate gift represents a transformational investment in Wofford football and will fully fund two football scholarships each year, providing life-changing opportunities for our student-athletes. Their legacy of support will continue to impact future generations of Terriers, and we sincerely thank them for their vision and lasting commitment to Wofford Athletics.
BOSSCARS AWARDS
The 2026 Bosscars Awards were presented by the Wofford Student-Athlete Advisory Committee in conjunction with the Wofford Department of Athletics on Wednesday night at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. Nearly twenty awards were presented during the event, highlighted by Maximus Pulley from the football team winning Male Student-Athlete of the Year, while Sherika Christie of the women's track and field team took home Female Student-Athlete of the Year honors. BASKETBALL TRANSFER PORTAL
The transfer portal window opened for both men's and women's basketball several weeks ago. Over half of the NCAA Division I men's basketball student-athletes with remaining eligibility entered the portal. Coach Giltner and Coach Garrity, along with their amazing staffs, have been working hard to navigate this new landscape. While we did not have as many players enter the portal as other peer institutions, roster management is one of the biggest challenges for our coaches. In the coming weeks, we look forward to announcing an outstanding group of incoming student-athletes that will represent Wofford well on and off the court.
WOFFORD FOOTBALL IN THE PROS
Defensive back Maximus Pulley and offensive lineman Quincy Hughes will be continuing their playing careers in the NFL. Pulley has signed an undrafted free agent contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, while Hughes has been invited to the Las Vegas Raiders mini camp. In addition, defensive lineman Brandon Maina signed as a free agent with the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL and will begin training camp in early May.
The three newcomers join defensive back JoJo Tillery and defensive lineman Miles Brown in the professional ranks. Tillery is playing this season with the Birmingham Stallions in the UFL, having won a USFL title with the team in 2022. Brown played for the Arizona Cardinals before playing in the CFL, most recently with the Calgary Stampeders.
