JaKayla Campbell was named the Most Outstanding Female Track Performer and
Patrick Green II was named the Most Outstanding Male Field Performer as the 2026 Southern Conference outdoor track and field specialty awards were announced on Friday. The awards were voted on by the league's ten outdoor coaches.
JaKayla Campbell, a junior from College Park, Georgia, scored 21 points at the 2026 Southern Conference Outdoor Championship. Campbell won the 100-meter hurdles in 13.52 and added a third-place finish in the 200 meters with a personal best of 24.06. She added a pair of first-place finishes as a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. The 4x400 team set a school record and a SoCon meet record in 3:37.83.
Campbell is the fifth Terrier to be named a SoCon Performer of the Year, along with Hannah Steelman (2019 – Track), Kerrington Johnson (2023 – Track), Jasmine Jefferson (2024- Track),
Sherika Christie (2025 – Field).
Patrick Green II, a junior from Beech Island, S.C., scored 20 points in the championship. He won a pair of titles, first in the triple jump at 14.86 and then in the long jump at 7.19 meters. Green becomes just the third Terrier to earn SoCon Male Performer of the Year honors, joining Adrien Borders (2003 – Field) and Katon Bethay (2006 – Field).
