Men’s Basketball Releases 2026-27 Schedule

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford men's basketball head coach Kevin Giltner announced the 2026-27 schedule on Thursday afternoon. The team will play a full 32-game slate, featuring 16 games inside of Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium. The schedule is split into 12 non-conference games and 20 Southern Conference matchups.

"I am excited about the schedule we have put together as a staff that includes historic programs like Tennessee and North Carolina," said head coach Kevin Giltner. "This year we have 16 home games, which is the most since the 2022-23 season. Playing in front of our fanbase in our beautiful arena never gets old! We have a tough schedule, but we are excited about the regional games we have with familiar teams that should excite the fan base. Adding Tennessee Tech to our league and having SoCon games as early as December 5 is a new part of our schedule as well for SoCon play. We are eager to get the guys back this fall after a productive summer to prepare for it!"

The Terriers will host Virginia Tech in a homecoming exhibition on Friday, October 16, at 5:00 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets here.

Virginia Tech head coach Mike Young returns to campus after serving 30 years on the Terrier men's basketball staff. Young led Wofford to five Southern Conference Tournament Championships and posted a 299-244 record across 17 seasons as head coach. The 2018-19 team finished the season with a 30-5 record and a perfect 18-0 mark in SoCon action.

"What an incredible opportunity this is for Wofford, our program, alumni, and our community to be able to host not only an ACC team like Virginia Tech, but also to welcome back Coach Young," said Giltner. "I am thrilled we could make this work, and I hope we can pack the house for a great preseason exhibition! You will not want to miss out on this special homecoming event!"

Wofford will kick off the regular season with a trip to Tennessee on November 3, followed by a matchup with the University of North Carolina on November 6. The last time the team faced off with Tennessee was in the 2025 NCAA Tournament. The home opener at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium will be on November 8 against Allen University. A matchup with NAIA member Voorhees on November 11 is after that.

The Terriers will then travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, to take on the defending ASUN Champions Queens University on November 14, followed by a trip to Charleston Southern on November 18 for the SoCon-Big South scheduling alliance. The team will welcome Winthrop on November 21 to close out the challenge. Wofford hits the road for trips to Purdue Fort Wayne on November 28 and La Salle on December 1.

Southern Conference action begins with a road game at Mercer on December 5. Wofford will return home for a pair of games against Georgia Southern on December 9 and Virginia University of Lynchburg on December 12. The Terriers travel to Samford on December 19 before a home matchup with Western Carolina on December 22. The final game of the 2026 calendar year will be against SoCon newcomer Tennessee Tech on December 30 at home.

Back-to-back road games at UNCG on January 2 and The Citadel on January 6 start the new year. A Saturday matchup with Mercer at home on January 9 is followed by a trip to VMI on January 13. The Terriers will take on Chattanooga on January 16 at home before a short trip to Furman on January 18.

Four of the next five games will be held at Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium, starting with the Citadel on January 21 and ETSU on January 23. Wofford travels to Western Carolina on January 27 before welcoming Samford on January 30 and VMI on February 3. The team will then take a trip to Chattanooga on February 6. After a seven-day hiatus, the Terriers will have a road matchup with ETSU on February 13.

Wofford will take on UNCG at home on February 18, followed by the home finale against Furman on February 20. The final regular season game is set for February 24 at Tennessee Tech. The Southern Conference Tournament will be held at Harrah's Cherokee Center – Asheville from March 5-8.
