RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wofford College volleyball team earned a straight set sweep over George Washington University on Sunday afternoon at the Summit Hospitality Tournament hosted by N.C. State. The Terriers improve to 5-1 on the season while George Washington drops to 1-5.
 
Bradley Brown was the lone Terrier that reached double-digit kills, finishing the match with 10 on a .381 hitting percentage. Charlotte Bell posted a career-high nine kills on a .667 hitting percentage. Natalie Arnold had eight kills. Taylor Pecht dished out 21 assists to help command the offense. Ella Coleman paced the team with two service aces, along with one each from Maddy Frazier and Chloe Smith.
 
Laney Klika posted 24 digs across the three sets – the eighth-most in program history in a three-set match. Ella Coleman had nine digs while Taylor Pecht closed the day with seven. Charlotte Bell had a career-high six blocks, including two solo. Natalie Arnold and Bradley Brown finished with four blocks each as well.
 
Wofford finished the day with 39 kills on a .301 hitting percentage compared to 33 kills on a .125 hitting percentage from George Washington. The two teams tied with four aces apiece. Wofford rejected 10 attacks while George Washington had five blocks.
 
George Washington took a quick 2-0 lead in set one of the match, but Wofford responded with four-straight points to take its first lead of the stanza, 4-2. It remained back-and-forth from there, with the two teams tied at 14-all halfway through the set. A pair of kills from Natalie Arnold and Bradley Brown, along with an attacking error from George Washington put the Terriers up 17-14. The team never looked back from there, taking set one 25-18. Bradley Brown posted six kills on a .750 hitting percentage in the first set.
 
It was all Wofford in set two as the team jumped out to an 8-2 lead. Ella Coleman, Chloe Smith and Charlotte Bell highlighted the 8-1 run. George Washington battled to bring the deficit to four points, 13-9, but another 8-1 run put Wofford up 21-10. The Terriers won set two with a convincing 25-15 score.
 
George Washington responded in set three, taking an 8-5 lead over the Terriers. Seven unanswered points from Wofford swung the momentum, however, as the Terriers regained a 12-8 advantage. Charlotte Bell kickstarted the run with a pair of kills while Natalie Arnold closed it out with two more kills. Those seven points were the start of a 15-3 run, with Wofford taking full control of the final set of the match. The team would go on to win the set 25-16 and the match 3-0.

Bradley Brown and Laney Klika were named to the Summit Hospitality All-Tournament Team. 
 
Wofford concludes the Summit Hospitality Tournament with a 2-1 record, including a pair of sweeps against Charlotte and George Wasington. The team will return to Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium for a three-match home stand. Wofford will welcome Coastal Carolina on September 10 before South Carolina and Clemson visit on September 12 and 13, respectively.
