Expected to be the starter at third base for the Terriers ... Is the returning leader in at-bats, home runs, RBIs and total bases from last season ...  2007: Started 62 games as a junior ... Had a .323 batting average ... Second on team with 16 home runs, second on team with 248 at-bats and third on team with 80 hits ... Key part of Wofford earning NCAA Home run Title with 108 ... Among the SoCon, was third in home runs and seventh in total bases (148) ... In the field had 97 putouts and 95 assists with a .914 fielding percentage ... Against Dayton (Feb. 11) had two home runs in four at-bats with four RBIs ... Was four-of-four from the plate against Manhattan (March 11), with a double and home run to score three runs ... Against Lafayette (March 14) was three-of-five with a home run and two doubles along with a season-best five RBIs ... At Appalachian State (March 23) had three hits and four RBIs ... Had two home runs at Appalachian State (March 25) ... At Georgia Southern (April 29) was four-of-five from the plate with two home run blasts and a season-best six RBIs ... PERSONAL: Born December 25, 1985 ... Son of Scott and Tammy Kirkley ... Majoring in finance ... His father, Scott Kirkley, played baseball at The Citadel while his great uncle, Grady Ray, is in the Newberry College Athletic Hall of Fame as a former football standout ... Ray is also a member of the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame in addition to serving as its past president.
