Trent Bunn enters his ninth season as an assistant coach with the Terriers in 2025-26. During the previous eight seasons, Wofford has posted seven-straight .500 or better seasons and earned back-to-back postseason berths in the WNIT in 2022 and 2023.
Overcoming several key injuries in 2024-25, the Terriers posted another impressive campaign at 17-12 with an 8-6 SoCon clip. Wofford reached the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament for the fifth-straight season. For the third-straight season, a Terrier earned SoCon Player of the Year as Evangelia Paulk won the award, adding SoCon Defensive Player of the Year honors as well. Helen Matthews joined her on the All-SoCon First Team to mark the first time in program history with a pair of Terriers on the first team. Libby Privett was honored as the Ann Lashley Inspiration Award winner, and Molly Masingale was tabbed to the SoCon All-Freshman Team. Matthews also earned SoCon All-Tournament Team honors after leading the squad to the semifinals while playing through a key elbow injury.
Wofford posted another stellar campaign in 2023-24 with a 17-13 overall record and a SoCon clip of 8-6. Wofford was 13-2 at home to set a new program benchmark for home wins. The Terriers advanced to the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament for the fourth consecutive season. Rachael Rose repeated as SoCon Player of the Year with Evangelia Paulk claiming SoCon Freshman of the Year honors. Maddie Heiss joined Paulk on the all-freshman team, and Annabelle Schultz earned SoCon All-Defensive Team recognition as well as a Third-Team All-SoCon honor.
The 2022-23 season saw unprecedented heights for the Terriers with a 22-10 overall record and 10-4 SoCon clip. Wofford claimed the Southern Conference Regular Season Championship, the first in program history and for any Wofford women's team sport. The 22 wins mark the program's first 20-win season at the Division I level. Rachael Rose was named SoCon Player of the Year and was joined on the All-SoCon Teams by Jackie Carman and Lilly Hatton with Helen Matthews garnering All-Defensive Team honors. As the No. 1 seed, Wofford reached the SoCon Championship for just the second time ever and the second time in three seasons while returning the WNIT for a second consecutive season of postseason play.
The 2021-22 season saw Wofford finish 17-14 overall and 11-3 in the Southern Conference. The 17 wins are the most in Wofford's Division I era, and the 11 SoCon triumphs are a program record. Wofford earned the No. 2 seed for the Southern Conference Tournament, its best ever, and concluded the season with its first-ever WNIT appearance. All five members of the starting lineup were represented in the SoCon season-end awards.
In 2020-21, the team was 13-11 overall and reached the Southern Conference Tournament Championship game for the first time in school history. Following the regular season, Lilly Hatton was named to the All-SoCon Second Team by both the coaches and media, while Jamari McDavid was named to the All-SoCon Third Team by the media and was the recipient of the Ann Lashley Inspiration Award.
The 2019-2020 season saw the team finish with its best conference record in program history at 8-6. Lilly Hatton was honored as Freshman of the Year, along with Chloe Wanink, Da’Ja Green, and Cairo Booker receiving All-Conference accolades as well.
During the 2018-19 season they recorded the program’s second best home record (12-1) while also helping land a program-best five Terriers on all-conference teams. Da’Ja Green earned All-SoCon second team honors and All-Freshman Team honors for the 2017-18 season in addition to Jamari McDavid being named to the All-Freshman team.
Prior to Wofford, Bunn spent five seasons at Knightdale High School as the head coach of the varsity girls team. Bunn posted a 72% winning percentage (74-29). He was named the Greater Neuse Coach of the Year in both 2015-16 and 2016-17.
Bunn also spent four seasons as an assistant coach at UNC Wilmington. He was responsible for the development of perimeter players, while assisting in all areas of game preparation. He handled film exchange, coordinating campus recruiting visits and monitoring academic progress of players. Bunn joined the UNC Wilmington staff following two seasons as an assistant coach at John T. Hoggard High School in Wilmington. Prior to working with the Vikings, he coached at East Wake High School where he guided the junior varsity squad to a pair of conference titles.
A 2001 graduate of UNC Chapel Hill, Bunn gained his first collegiate coaching experience assisting Dave Hanners with the Tar Heel junior varsity squad before volunteering with the Lady Tar Heel program under veteran coach Sylvia Hatchell. He also added a degree from UNC Wilmington in 2004.
