Stubbs wins in Terriers’ season opener

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Senior Andrew Stubbs was victorious despite the Wofford men’s tennis team dropping its season opener, 6-1, to No. 56 ranked South Carolina Sunday morning in Columbia, S.C.

In singles action, Stubbs, a three-time All-Southern Conference pick, claimed the Terriers’ lone win of the match with a victory at the No. 1 position. After falling in the first set to the Gamecocks’ sophomore Diego Cubas, Stubbs notched a 3-6, 6-4, 10-7 come-from-behind victory.

Three Wofford players appeared in their debut matches against USC.
