FOOTBALL GAMEDAY: Terriers welcome Chattanooga for Homecoming
The Wofford football returns to the friendly confines of Gibbs Stadium for the first time in a month to face Southern Conference foe Chattanooga.  It's Homecoming on campus so thousands of Terrier alumni will take part in all the many festivities including Friday night's Street Party on Morgan Square and the Terrier Ball following the game.

The centerpiece of the weekend will be the football game - an important league meeting with the Mocs.  This will mark the first of three Wofford games televised as part of "SoCon Saturdays on SportSouth" - hence the 3:00 p.m. kickoff.  The Terriers will be part of this special package again on October 25 at Elon and November 8 vs. The Citadel at Gibbs Stadium.  Also, be sure and visit with our friends from the "Southern Fried Football Tour" as they will have a special display at the corner of Cummings and McDowell Street.  Charlotte radio personality Mark Packer (host of "Primetime with the Packman") and crew will make their second trip to Wofford on Saturday.

Don't worry about bringing the tailgate food, Bubba's BBQ and Bash has you covered!  Purchase your delicious BBQ plates and all the fixins at the corner of Evins and Cummings Street. They'll be set-up for all the remaining home Terrier football games in the same location adjacent to the President's Club Parking Lot (Lot B).  A percentage of sales at the booth goes to support Wofford athletics.

For complete details on this weekend's game click the Football Gameday logo shown here or on the front page of athletics.wofford.edu.

TERRIER CLUB: Terrier Ball slated for Saturday at 7:00pm
Now it its ninth year, the Terrier Ball returns and takes on a new-look this year.  It's not your typical "ball," so come dressed casually after the game to enjoy an evening of dining, dancing and reminiscing.  REMEMBER, the football game starts at 3:00p.m., so you will be able to come directly into the Terrier Ball at the conclusion of the game.

Tickets are $50 (includes food and drink) and may be purchased by calling 864-597-4090.  The Terrier Ball raised over $100,000 for athletic scholarship and was attended by over 800 guests last year.

Ginny Gray
WOMEN'S SOCCER: Terriers come together for a good cause

This weekend head coach Amy Kiah and her team will host Samford on Sunday at 2:00 at Snyder Field.  But more importantly, the match will honor Bill Pryor, Jr. - "Little Bill" - the 4-year old son of former Terrier football player Bill Pryor '05 and former women's soccer player Ginny (Gray) Pryor '05 (pictured).

The Terriers are raising funds for the family as they help defray the medical bills for "Little Bill" as he has a rare, genetic eye disease that will eventually lead to blindness.  The women's soccer team and many alumni will be hosting a tailgate gathering in the President's Club Lot (Lot B) on Saturday before the football game and will also be accepting donations from fans at Sunday's match at Snyder Field. Stop by the tailgate to learn how to win a special Terrier fan package including a game-worn football jersey with all proceeds going to the Pryor family.

For more information or to make a donation, contact head women's soccer coach Amy Kiah at 864-4153.

MEN'S SOCCER: Next four matches at home beginning Oct. 14 vs. Clemson
The Wofford men's soccer team will host the Clemson Tigers for its next home match (Oct. 14, 6:00 pm, Terrier Vision) - the beginning of a four match homestand.  As part of that match Wofford Sports Marketing will be supporting Operation Care and Hope, a service project of Gramling United Methodist Church.  Fans are asked to bring the following items to the Spartanburg Regional Federal Credit Union Fan Services Center at Snyder Field.

A new unopened package of toilet paper (4 pack)
A wrapped single roll of paper towels
Box of facial tissue
Box of plastic garbage bags

For making a donation, fans will receive a free ticket to the Wofford-Western Carolina football game on October 18.  Admission to the soccer match against Clemson is free and the Wofford student body will be taking part in the first "Picnic on the Plaza" event hosted by Aramark.  The general public may purchase a picnic plate for $5.00/person.  The homestand continues Saturday night at 6:00 for "Go Pink" night against Furman, Oct. 25 vs. Georgia Southern and Oct. 29 vs. Davidson - the final home match of the season.

Go Pink
TERRIERS GO PINK: Wofford athletics joins in the fight against breast cancer
Wofford athletics will continue its support for breast cancer research by holding five “Terriers Go Pink” Days throughout the 2008-09 academic year. The five events will cover each of the women’s sports which have home events: soccer, volleyball, basketball and tennis. The fifth date will involve the Terrier men’s soccer team.

The Wofford men’s soccer team opened its 2008 campaign with an exhibition match at No. 1 and defending National Champion Wake Forest Aug. 19. As part of the game, the Terriers donned white jerseys with pink numbers to honor Gena Wiley, the late wife of former Wake Forest men’s soccer trainer Steve Wiley. The jerseys also featured a pink ribbon on the sleeve and to place a bid click here.

As a way to generate support and donations for the Komen Foundation, the Wofford athletic department will utilize a three-day, four-game home weekend in October. The first event will feature the Terrier women’s soccer team in action against UNC Greensboro Friday, Oct. 17.

On Saturday, Oct. 18, the Wofford football team takes the field against Western Carolina and the men’s soccer team will battle Furman later that day.  The weekend will conclude with the Terrier volleyball squad taking on Appalachian State Sunday, Oct. 19.

"Go Pink" t-shirts will also be available for $10 with all proceeds going to support breast cancer awareness.  For complete details contact Lisa Cherry at 864-597-4023.
