Wofford will open the 2009-10 season this week with a game against Pittsburgh ... It will mark the first ever meeting between the two teams ... In 2008-09, the Terriers put together the most successful season since joining the Southern Conference ... Wofford finished the season with a 16-14 overall record and in the SoCon the Terriers finished with a 12-8 mark that was fourth in the South Division ... The sixteen wins were tied for the most since moving to NCAA Division I and it also marked the first winning season as a Division I team ... In the conference, twelve wins were the most ever as a member of the Southern Conference and also marked the first winning mark in league play ... This will be the 15th straight season that the Terriers have opened the season on the road.

The Terriers are led by junior Noah Dahlman, who averaged 17.8 points per game and 6.4 rebounds per game last season ... Dahlman was third in the conference in scoring and 13th in rebounding, while his field goal percentage of 60.1% led the SoCon for the second straight season ... Seniors Corey Godzinski and Junior Salters are also projected starters ... Salters was seventh in the conference in scoring with 15.0 ppg and Godzinski averaged 7.0 ppg and was 35.1% from three ... Junior Tim Johnson was the team leader in rebounds at 8.7 per game, which was also second in the conference ... Fellow juniors Terry Martin played in all 30 games with 3.1 rpg while Drew Crowell played in 28 games and averaged 1.5 rg and 2.3 ppg ... At point guard, sophomores Brad Loesing and Jason Dawson stepped up, with Loesing starting 29 games last season with 5.3 ppg and 86 assists ... Dawson led the team with 93 assists and averaged 5.7 ppg, including 39.1% from three, while sophomore Kevin Giltner played in 30 games and averaged 4.5 ppg ... Sophomores walk-ons Joseph Tecklenberg and Matt Steelman also will see limited time ... Junior guards Jamar Diggs and Cameron Rundles joined the team last season as transfers and are eligible next fall after sitting out last season ... The freshmen joining the team are forwards Nathan Parker and Domas Rinksalis, along with guard Taylor Wagener.
