Women’s Soccer Falls 1-0 To SC State In Overtime

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The Wofford women’s soccer team was defeated in overtime 1-0 by South Carolina State on Monday night at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium. Veronica Aguilar scored the game winner for the Lady Bulldogs.

Wofford is 1-7 on the season, while the Lady Bulldogs move to 5-4. S.C. State had a 13 to 10 advantage on shots in the game, including seven shots by Brooke Ehinger.

After playing regulation without a goal, the Lady Bulldogs were able to score at the 98:42 mark when Brooke Ehinger had a shot that was deflected and Veronica Aguilar headed the ball into the net.

For the Terriers, goalie Erika Christensen allowed one goal and had four saves, while Alechia Brothers had two saves for S.C. State. Wofford had a 4-3 advantage on corner kicks.

Wofford will return to the field on Friday, September 25 when the Terriers travel to Elon for a 7:00 pm contest. The game will be the first Southern Conference match of the season for the Terriers. The next home game is October 2 against the College of Charleston.
