Women’s Soccer Faces Furman for Senior Night

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Tomorrow night the women’s soccer program closes the 2010 regular season with a final match at home versus conference rivals, Furman. The match is set to start at 7:00 pm and will feature pre-game recognition of this year’s graduating seniors. The 2010 seniors include Katie McChesney, Megan Wellborn, Lauren Cozzarelli, Nikki Siebert, and Daniella Fatti.

Be sure to come support the Terriers at Snyder Field as we celebrate the seniors and cheer on the team as they search for an important win against the Paladins. A victory will improve the team’s position in the Southern Conference and depending on results from other team’s play in the SoCon, could push the Terriers to a tournament seed.

Coach Kiah’s team enters the match with a 6-7-4 regular season record and a 1-5-4 standing in the conference. The team is led in total points by Emily Bougas and Nikki Siebert with 13 points each. Bougas leads the Terriers in goals scored with six and Siebert racks up the most assists with seven. Furman will enter the match with a 9-6-3 record on the year and a 4-3-3 record in the Southern Conference. The Paladins are led in total points by Martha Hall and Rachel Shelnutt. Both athletes share the top statistical categories, with 10 goals each, six assist each and 26 total points apiece.
