See below for details.

BASEBALL:  Special program in place for area  youth baseball teams
Area little league baseball coaches and parents, Wofford Sports Marketing and Academy Sports+Outdoors invites your teams to join the Wofford baseball team as part of the "Field of Dreams" program for the remaining home games in 2010.

This free program gives youth baseball teams the chance to take the field with the Terriers and have the child's name announced during pre-game introductions.  Click here for an informational flyer with complete details.

Only 12 eligible dates remain on the campaign and some dates have already filled!

Looking for an easy fundraiser for your little league?
Wofford Sports Marketing has developed a special ticket plan for you!   The "Youth Baseball Ticket Fundraiser" allows groups to sell a one-price ticket to a weekend of Wofford baseball games with 50% of the ticket price staying with the league!   Call (864) 597-4110 or 597-4023 and ask about the Youth Baseball Ticket Fundraiser for complete details.

BASEBALL: Next home series April 2-4 vs. The Citadel
The Wofford baseball team will spend Spring Break on the road as they open a 4-game, weekend series in Las Cruces, NM against the Aggies of New Mexico State.  They will then work their way back east to face Vanderbilt in a two-game mid week series March 30-31 before returning to Russell C. King Field.

That next home series the Terriers will face The Citadel Bulldogs on Easter weekend (April 2-4).  A full slate of promotions are planned including the debut of CJ Compton Plumbing "Super Saturday" with $1.00 hot dogs, the Terrier Tumbler moonbounce and free admission for all kids 12 and under.  Plus, there will be a small Easter egg hunt around the ballpark for Saturday's game as well.  Admission to the Easter Sunday game will be free and fans will have the chance to play "Launch-A-Ball" after the game for special prizes.

After The Citadel series, the Terriers will play only two home mid-week games (April 14 vs. ETSU and April 21 vs. Gardner-Webb) for April 30. That's 2 home games in a 25-day span.

If you want to see the baseball team in person anytime soon, mark your calendar for April 2-4.

TENNIS: Men's tennis at home Wednesday, March 31
The Wofford men's and women's tennis teams are in the thick of the Southern Conference schedule now.  The next home match at the Reeves Tennis Center will be Wednesday, March 31 as the men host Davidson at 3:00 pm.  That is the last home match until a four-match homestand beginning April 10 when the women taken on UNC Greensboro.  Admission to all matches is free.

NUMBER OF THE WEEK:  73

While the basketball team has garnered the lion's share of attention the last few weeks, sophomore catcher/designated hitter Mac Doyle has gotten off to torrid start for the Terrier baseball team.  When you read the paragraph below, realize he's done all this through the first 73 at bats of the season.

Going into this weekend's series at New Mexico State, he is either leading or no lower than 3rd in the Southern Conference in 7 categories.  He leads the league in batting average (.438), slugging percentage (1.000), doubles (3-way tie for 1st with 9), home runs (10), and total bases (73...leads the category by 10 - that number look familiar?). He is third in the league in on-base percentage (.512) and runs batted in (28).  All this and he even missed a few games because he fouled a ball in practice off his eye.

HAPPY TRAILS:  IMG College account executive Adam Smith will mark today, March 26, as his last day at Wofford as he moves on to take a position with IMG College at the University of Florida.  Graham Gooley takes over the IMG College marketing efforts at Wofford after serving in a similar capacity at Furman last year.
