SPARTANBURG, S.C. –The Southern Conference office announced this afternoon its selections for SoCon Pitcher and Player of the Week for games played from March 30 to April 6. Wofford sophomore outfielder Ben Timblin was selected as the player of the week. The selections are made by the league office.

This is Wofford's first weekly honor of the season and Timblin's first weekly honor of his career. The Terriers last saw a player of the week in February of 2025 and the latest being May of 2025 with a pitcher of the week.

"This is well deserved for Ben," head coach J.J. Edwards said. "Ben worked his tail off all weekend and has put in a lot of work to be where he's at now. I'm really proud of him and how this team has played."

Timblin appeared in four games last week for the Terriers, going 7-of-12 at the plate in the weekend series at VMI. The Signal Mountain, Tennessee, native hit three home runs, including his first grand slam in game three against VMI. Over the three games, Timblin hit .583 with a .449 on-base clip. He totaled seven hits, five of which went for extra bases. Timblin drove home a total of 12 batters over the weekend, driving home five in back-to-back games.

Through 32 games started, Timblin is third on the team with a .336 batting average and second with a .600 slugging percentage. He leads the team with 40 RBI and is second in the Southern Conference and 30^th in the nation. Timblin also leads the team with 13 stolen bases out of 15 attempts, which puts him sixth in the Southern Conference.

The Terriers (21-11, 5-1) will be back on the road to face off against Georgia State in Atlanta at 6 p.m., streaming on ESPN +. Wofford will then welcome The Citadel to Russell C. King Field for a weekend series with the first pitch on Friday set for 5:30 p.m., streaming on ESPN +.
