SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford right-handed pitcher
Alec Bouchard was selected in the 14th round and 407
th overall pick by the Minnesota Twins in the 2026 Major League Baseball (MLB) First-Year Player Draft on Sunday.
Bouchard, a junior pitcher from Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, was named the 2026 Southern Conference Pitcher of the Year and received All-SoCon First Team recognition. He posted a league-best 2.83 ERA over 86.0 innings pitched, starting in 15 games with a 9-3 record. He had 104 strikeouts to lead the team and rank second in the SoCon. His nine wins also led the team and tied for first in the league.
For his career at Wofford, he made 55 appearances and 24 starts with a 13-9 record. In 181.2 innings pitched, he had a 4.71 ERA with 197 strikeouts.

This is the third draft selection under Edwards and the 21
st in the history of the program. Wofford has had a player selected in four consecutive drafts with Ryan Galanie (13
th round, Chicago White Sox) in 2023, Marshall Toole (15
th round, New York Yankees) in 2024, and
Carter Rasmussen (14
th round, Boston Red Sox) in 2025.
