BOONE, N.C. – Five former Appalachian State University student-athletes were selected for induction into the Appalachian State Athletics Hall of Fame on Saturday, including current Wofford women's golf head coach, Angie Ridgeway.
Ridgeway, an App State student-athlete from 1983-87, joins track and field's Jennifer Claud-White (2001-05), men's soccoer's Frank Kerno (1973-76) and football's Matt Isenhour (2003-06) and Damon Scott (1993-96) in the Hall of Fame class. The induction ceremony is set for Saturday, September 6, in conjunction with App State's home-opening football game against Campbell. The group will be honored at an induction breakfast at 9 a.m., and at halftime of that day's game.

Ridgeway was a four-year letterwinner at ASU and the school's all-time winningest golfer until 2012. She ranks ninth in ASU history for career stroke average (81.26) and is eighth all-time in lowest 18-hole round (71). After graduating No. 2 all-time at App in individual tournament wins in 1987, she played professionally on the LPGA Tour for 12 years. Her LPGA career consisted of over 190 events, including six U.S. Opens. Ridgeway posted six career top-10 finishes and finished top-25 on 21 occasions.

Ridgeway just completed her 10th season at Wofford since arriving in July of 2004, guiding the Terriers to all eight of their tournament victories in the school's NCAA Division I era.
