Four Terriers Honored on WGCA All-American Scholar Team

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) announced today its 2024-25 WGCA All-American Scholar Team, recognizing 1,499 women's collegiate golfers across 409 programs. Taylor Burch, Maggie Jackson, Bella Kent, and Delaney Wade are the four Terriers to receive the prestigious honor this year.

With four honorees, Wofford has placed at least three Terriers on the WGCA All-American Scholar Team for now a fifth-straight season. The quartet of recipients are the most for the program since also having four in the 2022-23 season.

Burch, a senior from Elgin, South Carolina, was named to the SoCon All-Academic Team and SoCon Honor Roll this season. This is Burch's first WGCA All-American Scholar Team selection. Burch played 23 rounds in her final campaign, posting a 79.96 stroke average over eight tournaments. She recorded a pair of top-20 results, bringing her career total to four. She finishes her Terrier career with 74 rounds completed and an 80.07 stroke average. Burch graduated in May with a 3.51 GPA and degree in business economics.

Jackson, a senior from Tallulah Falls, Georgia, was named to the SoCon All-Academic Team and SoCon Honor Roll alongside garnering CSC Academic All-District At-Large recognition. She has been named to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team all four seasons of her career. Jackson played 27 rounds this season with a 78.15 stroke average, recording four top-20 results, two of which were top-10s. Jackson concluded her career with 113 rounds played, becoming the only Terrier to ever eclipse 100 rounds of golf. She recorded five top-10 finishes with one top five, and her 77.54 stroke average checks in as the second best among graduates in program history. Jackson graduated in May with a 3.91 GPA and degrees in physics and art history.

Kent, a sophomore from Berkshire, England, joined Jackson on the CSC Academic All-District At-Large Team while also receiving SoCon All-Academic Team and SoCon Honor Roll recognition. This is her second selection to the WGCA All-American Scholar Team. She led the team with a 75.93 stroke average over 27 rounds. She posted six top-20 finishes with four top-10 results. Three of them were top-five finishes, including her first-career victory in the Mimosa Hills Intercollegiate. Kent was twice named SoCon Women's Golfer of the Week this season. She owns a 3.94 GPA as a mathematics major.

Wade, a freshman from Granger, Indiana, was named to the SoCon Academic Honor Roll as she makes her first appearance on the WGCA All-American Scholar Team. She played 18 rounds in her rookie campaign with one top-20 result, placing 14th in the Fripp Island Intercollegiate to aid in the first of Wofford's two team wins this season. Wade recorded an 80.67 stroke average with a low round of 74. With her major still undeclared, Wade posts a 3.66 GPA.

To qualify for the all-American scholar team, student-athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher while continuing to garner amateur status and must participate in a minimum of 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds.
