WEST COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Wofford women's golf team competed in the 2025 Southern Conference Championship, wrapping up play at the Solina Golf Course Wednesday afternoon. The Terriers placed in eighth with a score of 944, led by
Lilli Horn's 232 in 15
th.
The Terriers were 80-over par with a score of 944. Wofford opened the three-day event with a 311 and followed with a 310 in round two. However, a 323 on day three dropped Wofford two spots to eighth. Wofford's 3.41 par-3 average was third in the nine-team field, and the Terriers were second in the field with 30 birdies, only five behind Furman's 35. The Paladins won the event with an 898, nine strokes ahead of runner-up Chattanooga.
At 16-over par,
Lilli Horn was the leading Terrier, carding a 232. Horn opened with a 79 and followed with a 73, but an 80 on day three dropped her four spots to a tie for 15
th. This is Horn's third-straight top-20 result in the SoCon Championship. The junior recorded 33 pars, tied for third most in the event. She was just five behind the highest total (38).
Furman's Audrey Ryu posted an even-par 216 to win the individual title by three strokes over Mercer's Mikayla Dubnik.
Bella Kent was 24
th with a 236 score after rounds of 79-76-81. Her nine birdies were tied for second most in the field behind only Ryu and Dubnik, each with 12.
Taylor Burch was just a stroke behind with a score of 237, placing 25
th. She carded rounds of 77-81-79.
Maggie Jackson tied for 30
th with her 246, posting rounds of 82-81-83.
Regina Parra rounds out the Terrier lineup with a 250 in 34
th. She had rounds of 76-80-94.
The event marked the conclusion of three senior Terriers' careers: Burch, Jackson, and Parra. Jackson finishes her career with 113 rounds played, the most by a Terrier ever as the only Wofford women's golfer to ever breach the 100-rounds threshold. Her 77.54 career stroke average checks in as the second best in program history, excluding active Terriers. She trails only Becca Earl (74.56).
Wofford's season wraps up with the event, and the 2024-25 campaign saw the Terriers claim two team titles and one individual victory (Kent). The Terriers return to the course in the fall of 2025 for the 2025-26 season looking to build on another successful campaign.
