GREENVILLE, N.C.—The Wofford women's golf team completed play on Tuesday afternoon in the ECU Ironwood Invitational at the par-72 Ironwood Golf & Country Club. The Terriers finished in 12
th place with junior
Bella Kent being the top finisher with a tie for ninth place.
The three-day tournament started on Easter Sunday with Wofford opening with a 315. The Terriers came back in round two on Monday to card a 305 before returning to the final round to finish with a 307 to place 12
th in the 16-team field with a 63-over 927 score. Host team East Carolina finished on top with a 13-over 877 score and had five golfers finishing in the top 25. East Carolina's Nicole Nash placed first with a five-under 211 in the 89-player field.
Bella Kent led the way for the Terriers, securing a seven-over 223 to tie for ninth place. Kent opened up round one with a 71, before coming back in rounds two and three to card a 76. Kent had the sixth best par three average, at 3.08.
Delaney Wade followed with a 15-over 231 to secure a tie for 45
th place. Wade opened the tournament with an 80 before carding a 74. Wade carded a 77 in the final round.
Lilli Horn followed one stroke behind Wade to secure a tie for 49
th place with a 16-over 232. Horn opened round one with an 81 before cutting it down to a 76 in round two. Horn finished the tournament with a 75.
Grace Lindsey placed for a tie in 69
th place with a 25-over 241. Lindsey carded 83-79-79 during the tournament. The final Terrier to compete,
Sofia Pedrero, finished in 83
rd place with a 33-over 249 (86-81-82).
The Terriers return to action for the final time this season at the Southern Conference Tournament held in Blythewood, South Carolina, at the Columbia Country Club, starting on Monday, April 20.
