MCALLEN, Texas – The NBA Development League Rio Grande Valley Vipers selected Wofford's
Karl Cochran in the 2015 NBA D-League Draft. Cochran was taken as the 10th pick of the third round of Saturday's draft, the 48th overall selection.

Cochran is the first Terrier ever selected in the D-League Draft. The D-League was founded in 2001. The Vipers were founded in 2007 and are the NBA affiliate of the Houston Rockets.

A native of Marietta, Georgia, Cochran was named 2014-15 Southern Conference Player of the Year. He was the only player in the country to lead his team in all five major statistical categories, finishing his senior season averaging 14.6 points, 5.9 rebounds, 2.7 assists, 1.8 steals and 1.0 blocks. He went on to be named an AP All-America honorable mention, as well as a finalist for the 2014-15 Lou Henson Mid-Major Player of the Year Award.

Cochran graduated as Wofford's sixth all-time leading scorer with 1,894 career points. It is the second-highest total of any Terrier in the Division I era (Noah Dahlman, 2,013 points). Cochran also holds program records for career 3-point field goals made (312) and games played (133), the Division I record for career steals (226) and the single-season record for 3-pointers made (98). He is the only player in program history to end his career with 1,500 points, 500 rebounds, 300 assists, 200 steals and 100 blocks.

Rio Grande Valley begins the 2015-16 season Friday, November 13, against the Idaho Stampede.
