THE MATCHUP:  We could leave this with simply... It's Wofford vs. Furman, need we say more?
BUT, we'll expand on this year's tilt a bit more than that.
It's Homecoming at Furman as the Terriers and Paladins renew the oldest college football rivalry in South Carolina this Saturday in Greenville.
The schools first met on the gridiron here in Spartanburg December 14, 1889. Wofford kept its playoff hopes alive last week with a 31-21 triumph over Mercer. Take a moment to check out where Wofford ranks both in the SoCon and in the FCS in a few key categories: Total defense (260.8 ypg; 1 SoCon, 3 FCS), Rushing offense (297 ypg; 2 SoCon, 5 FCS), Rushing defense (67.5 ypg; 1 SoCon, T2 FCS), Time of Possession (35:20, 1 FCS) and Net punting (44.9 ypg, 1 FCS). Lorenzo Long continues to lead the league in rushing at 111 ypg and is tied for 1st in touchdowns scored with 11.
Furman has been bit by the turnover bug this year. The Paladins rank last in the SoCon with a -9 turnover margin. Don't let Furman's 2-6 overall record fool you.The Paladins have won two straight on the road (ETSU and VMI) and they played Michigan State, The Citadel and Chattanooga all tight to begin the year.  The Paladins have faced two triple option teams, allowing just 196 yards at The Citadel in week two, but were gashed by Kennesaw State for 398 yards in week 5.  Furman is explosive on offense, having scored 21 or more points in 5 straight games and QB Reese Hannon is currently 2nd in the SoCon in passing yards and total offense (132-200-6 INT-15TD, 278 ypg).  Wofford hasn't won inside Paladin Stadium since 2007. The Terriers are receiving votes in both FCS polls ranking either 32nd or 33rd.

PARKING AND TRAFFIC UPDATE (HOME GAMES): Please take note of the following changes for the 2016 season. For an updated map, click the Parking Map icon below.
Terrier Club parking pass holders for Lots F and T: Access the new paved lot from Cumming Street across from the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium construction site.  Lots F and T are at the front of this new lot nearest Cumming Street.

Terrier Club parking pass holders for Lots C, D and P: To access these lots, use Cumming Street and turn onto McDowell Street. Turn right into the new paved lot to access Lots C and D. Continue on McDowell a short distance to access Lot P located on the left. Additional General Parking ($10 per car on gameday) is located at the end of McDowell Street.  NOTE: McDowell is now a ONE WAY street for gamedays with traffic moving west away from Gibbs Stadium.  Access to the area behind The Village apartments and the Greek Village is blocked at the intersection of Pearl Street and Edgewood Drive to alleviate issues in the past with cars blocking the street.

Terrier Club parking pass holders for Lot B: Access to this grass lot across from the Joe E. Taylor Center is available from Cumming Street.

Verandah Lot pass holders: Access to the Verandah Lot is unchanged from last season.

Wofford faculty and staff (Lot W parking pass required): The newly created "Lot W" will service Wofford College faculty and staff on the lawn of Main Building.  Access to Lot W is off of Evins Street across from the new Stewart H. Johnson Greek Village. Lot W passes must be picked up by College faculty/staff before Friday at Noon of game week.

General Parking: Parking for visitors and the general public remains $10 per car. There are two locations for General Parking - one is best accessed from Pine Street, turning onto Twitty Street. Twitty Street, once a culdesac, now has limited paid parking on gameday, handicapped accessibility and an additional grass parking  area as well near the entrance to Carolina Panthers Training Camp. NOTE: There is no cut-through from Cumming Street to Twitty Street this season due to the Jerry Richardson Indoor Stadium construction site.  The other General Parking area
(behind Lot P) is located off McDowell Street and is best accessed by using Cumming Street.

We appreciate your support of Terrier football and your compliance with our new rules and regulations as we continue to make gameday at Gibbs a convenient and enjoyable experience!
