Spartanburg, S.C. – The Wofford women's soccer team lost 4-0 to Western Carolina on Sunday afternoon. Western Carolina scored a goal early in the first half and padded the lead to secure the win. The loss moves the Terriers to 7-8-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the Southern Conference.

Megan McCallister got the scoring started in the 14
th minute after
Alex Carroll made a save but could not hold onto the rebound. McCallister struck again in the 16
th minute this time from a corner kick taken by Sayres McKenna. Wofford had a great opportunity to score but the shot from
Hayley Younginer was saved by the Catamount keeper to send the match into the half 2-0.

After the half Western Carolina continued to show its dominance over the Terriers. Megan McCallister completed the hat trick in the 58
th minute when she beat the Terrier defense down the left sideline and scored over
Alex Carroll's head. The Catamounts completed the scoring in the 88
th minute of the match when Emily Threatt struck from just inside the penalty area.

Despite the loss, Wofford totaled 10 shots and four corner kicks.
Hayley Younginer led the Terriers with three shots and
Alex Carroll made three saves in the match. Prior to the match, eight Wofford seniors were recognized for their contributions to Wofford soccer,

Wofford will return to the pitch on Friday, October 20 when the Terriers travel to Samford to face off against the Bulldogs at 7 PM ET.
