Spartanburg, S.C. – The Wofford women's basketball team fell 64-60 to Nebraska-Omaha on Sunday afternoon at Richardson Indoor Stadium. The Terriers tried to manufacture the comeback after trailing by 10 at the half but the rally fell just short. With the loss, Wofford moves to 2-3 on the season.

The Terriers opened the game struggling from the floor, only going 3-15 (20%) in the first quarter. Wofford's defense kept the game close as the Terriers held Omaha to just 4-13 shooting in the first quarter. Omaha picked up the scoring in the second quarter as the Mavericks went 7-15 (46%) from the field while holding Wofford to just 13 points on 6-16 (37%) shooting. Omaha led Wofford by 10, 32-22 at the half time break.

Out of the break Wofford picked up the intensity defensively forcing the Mavericks to go 3-12 (25%) from the floor as Omaha only scored 8 points in the third quarter. Wofford was able to outscore Omaha 16-8 in the third quarter thanks to 7-17 (41%) shooting and 2-5 from three point range.

Both teams saved its best basketball for the final quarter as the score after three was 40-38. Omaha went 6-10 from the field and added 10 free throws on 13 attempts in the final quarter to secure the win over the Terriers.

Despite the loss,
Chloe Wanink totaled 17 points, four assists and seven rebounds over 40 minutes.
Marissa Bayer had 16 points, one assist and seven rebounds over 30 minutes. Â

Wofford will return to the court on Tuesday, November 28 when the Terriers host Bob Jones at 7 pm.
