Box Score Asheville, N.C. – The Wofford women's soccer team lost in its first road game of the season 3-2 at UNC Asheville on Sunday afternoon at Greenwood Field.
Early in the first half the Terriers and Bulldogs traded scoring opportunities but the Terriers struck first. In the 15
th minute 
Hayley Younginer netted her first goal of the season thanks to the assist from 
Emma Fletcher. A takeaway in the midfield lead to the opportunity for Younginer's first goal of the season. The first half ended with the Terriers leading 1-0 thanks to 8 saves in the first half from 
Alex Carroll.
The Terriers continued the scoring early in the second half when Younginer put away her second goal of the game and the season in the 52
nd minute. Younginer took a pass at the top of the box, beat a defender and finished from the top of the penalty area to extend the Terrier lead to two.
The Bulldogs got into the scoring action in the 75
th minute when Courtney Naber finished a passed from Emma Houser pulling UNC Asheville within one. With just four minutes remaining in the match, the Bulldogs drew even after the goal by Alison Kurucz from Caroline Houser.
Regular time ended in a 2-2 draw and the game headed to overtime to determine the outcome. Just three minutes into the first overtime period the Bulldogs ended the game thanks to a goal from Courtney Naber. Naber's second goal of the game came off an assist from Taylor Barber to clinch the game for UNC Asheville.
Despite the loss the Terriers were led by 
Hayley Younginer and 
Hannah Washko with 5 and 4 shots respectively. 
Alex Carroll compiled 10 saves in the match.
The Terriers drop to 0-2 on the season and will look to get on the winning track next Sunday, August 27 at Presbyterian College at 2pm.
