Women’s Soccer Welcomes Ten Newcomers for the Class of 2026

SPARTANBURG, S.C. –Wofford women's soccer head coach Kevin Dempsey has announced ten student-athletes, who have signed an athletics aid agreement or letter of commitment to join the Terriers next fall.

This class of signees represents eight different states with two each from Arizona and Georgia.

"Stephen and I are super excited about the 10 players joining the program," Dempsey said. "They're coming from some of the top programs in the country with a winning mentality and attitude who want to help get the program to the top of the Southern Conference. But above and beyond all that, they're amazing young ladies from amazing families whom we are excited to have join us this upcoming fall."

Sylvie Behl is an outside back and winger from Glen Mills, Pennsylvania. Behl attends Garnet Valley High School where she has helped her team make it to the state playoffs all four years and led them to the state quarterfinals in her junior year. The three-year letterwinner was named to the Central League as a senior and was named Defensive Player of the Year for Garnet Valley. For her exceptional contributions on and off the field for her team and community, Behl received the Erin Olsen "Jag" Award. In her time with club team Penn Fusion, Behl contributed to her club's ECNL National Championship title in 2024. The following year, she scored a goal to help her team advance out of the group stage and make it to the ECNL Round of 16 Playoffs.

Outside of soccer, Behl is the president of the Ski Club, treasurer and co-president of the Gardening Club, treasurer of the French Club, and is a member of the Baking and Rotary Club. Behl excels in academics as she's a member of the National Honor Society and French National Honors Society.

"Her versatility to play multiple positions will bring us a lot of depth to the program," Dempsey said. "She has played at the highest-level year in and year out with Penn Fusion and we know she's going to bring that winning mentality to our program."

Chloe Cundiff is a goalkeeper from Phoenix, Arizona, and attends Xavier College Preparatory. The two-time letterwinner boasts a career of 110 saves and 35 shutouts. In her junior season at Xavier College Prep, Cundiff recorded a 15-1 win-loss record, nine shutouts and .635 goals against average. Cundiff received All-State honorable mention and helped her team win the 2023-2024 Class 6A State Championship and the 2024-2025 Open Arizona State Championship titles. Cundiff is also a member of Phoenix Rising ECNL. Besides soccer, Cundiff excels in track and field where she became the top 10 All-Time Triple Jump Mark for Xavier College Prep. Cundiff is also teammates with fellow 2026 signee Ivy Schuman at Xavier College Prep and Phoenix Rising.

Cundiff is a member of the National Honors Society, the senior treasurer for student council, and a member of the Best Buddies Club. Cundiff is also an AP Scholar with Honors. Cundiff is the recipient of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Student Visionary of the Year Advocacy Award and is part of the National Charity League.

"We look forward to having her compete when she gets on campus," Dempsey said. "Her upkeep as a goalkeeper is exciting. Her club environment is one of the top in the country with Coach Kelly Cagle both on and off the field."

Bella Drummond is a left back from Leesburg, Virginia, and attends Tuscarora High School. During her time with Tuscarora, Drummond helped her team secure the 2024 Dulles District Championship title. Drummond is also a member of the Northern Virginia Alliance Club team. She was also featured on Top Drawer Soccer's ECNL Girls Mid-Atlantic Players to Watch List and has played on the U15 and U17 Jamaican Youth National Teams. During her time with the Jamaican National Team, Drummond earned three caps during the 2022 CONCACAF U15 Tournament and two caps during the CONCACAF U17 Qualifiers.

"Bella is a dynamic, athletic, wide player who loves to get forward into the attack, and can change a game in an instant," Dempsey said. "She's super competitive and a fantastic kid that we know is going to compete right away."

Libby Hutzell is a midfielder from Dacula, Georgia, and attends Archer High School. During her time at Archer, Hutzell has posted 67 goals and 29 assists through three seasons. Hutzell recorded 29 of those goals and 12 assists as a freshman. Hutzell has received Region 7A Honorable Mention, Region 7A Second Team All-Region and Region 6A First Team All-Region, along with First Team All-County. She has led her team to the Elite 8 Region 7A Playoffs and the First Round 6A/7A Region Playoffs. Her achievements go as far as being named the Wendy's Player of the Week, 2024 Offensive Player of the Year and 2025 Midfielder Player of the Year. Hutzell is also a member of the Gwinnett Soccer Academy (GSA). There, Hutzell led her team to the national playoffs four years in a row (2022-2025).

Outside of soccer, Hutzell has achieved academic honors by being a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, Spanish National Honors Society, AP Club and the A Honor Roll.

"Libby is a creative player who worked with Campbell Chapman at GSA, also one of the top clubs in the country, for years and will bring a wealth of experience and creativity to the front line," Dempsey said. "The biggest aspect she'll bring to the program is her ability to run through back lines."

Lola Kelly is a center forward and winger from Greenville, South Carolina, and attends St. Joseph's Catholic School. The four-year letterwinner accumulated over 34 goals and 27 assists during her time at St. Joesph's, including her junior year where she joined the 20 Goals, 20 Assists Club when she posted 22 goals, 22 assists. She is ranked 93rd in the nation and third in South Carolina for total assists in 2025. Kelly was named the 2023 SCHSL All-Region Player of the Year and the 2024/2025 SCHSL All-State Player of the Year. She led her team to the Class 3A State Semifinals three years in a row. Kelly is also a member of the Carolina Elite Soccer Academy (CESA) where she helped her team qualify for the ECNL National Playoffs four years in a row. Kelly also led the team to advance to the Round of 16 in 2023.

Outside of soccer, Kelly is on her school's basketball team. Kelly has played varsity basketball since eighth grade, serving as team captain her junior and senior year. She led her team in steals and was named the team MVP in 2025. Kelly was named a 2024/2025 and 2025/2026 Preseason SCHSL All-Region Selection. She was the 2024/2025 SCHSL All-Region Player and led her team to the State Semifinals in Class 3A three years in a row.

"Lola is one of the top players in South Carolina," Dempsey said. "She has shown a knack for scoring goals, and our hopes are she'll bring that with her to Wofford. We're excited to add a player from down the road from CESA. One of our goals is to attract the top talent in the state to Wofford."

Maya Lake is a forward from Hudson, Ohio, and attends Hudson High School. During her time at Hudson, Lake accrued 71 total goals and 20 assists. Lake was named All-State twice, a First Team Suburban Legend three times, First Team GASSCA twice and Second Team GASSCA once. The 2023 Offensive MVP led her team to the 2025 state finals, the regional finals twice, and district finals all four years. Lake is also a member of club team, Internationals SC.

Outside of soccer, Lake is an athlete on her school's track and field team. Academically, Lake is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish Honors Society. She is also an active member of the club Hudson Community First.

"Maya's pace out wide is outstanding," Dempsey said. "Her mentality to beat defenders one v one set her apart in the recruiting process."

Brooke Moody is a center midfielder from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and attends Mountain Vista High School. During her time at Mountain Vista, Moody scored one goal and had three assists. Moody was a 2025 Continental League Honorable Mention, All-State Honorable Mention, and academic All-State Honorable Mention. The three-time letterwinner helped lead her team to the 2024 5A State Championship title and the 2024 5A/4A Continental League Championship title. Moody is also a part of Real Colorado Athletico club team.

Outside of soccer, Moody is a member of the National Honors Society and is on the Honor Roll.

"Brooke is a box-to-box midfielder, she's really talented on the ball," Dempsey said. "She defends with a lot of intensity and her contributions on an extremely competitive club team shows her potential in the college game."

Ivy Schuman is an outside back and winger from Paradise Valley, Arizona, and attends Xavier College Preparatory. Schuman is a three-time state champion and a four-year letterwinner. She was also named All-Region honorable mention. Schuman has a career total of three goals and seven assists. Schuman is also a member of Phoenix Rising where she helped them to the ECNL Playoffs twice.

Outside of soccer, Schuman is a member of the Key Club, Pub Club and the Honors History Club. 

"Ivy is one of the most competitive kids we evaluated this past cycle," Dempsey said. "She's playing in one of the best environments with Phoenix Rising. Ivy will be able to come in and compete in several positions right away for the program."

Carson Walter is an outside back and winger from College Station, Texas and attends A&M Consolidated High School. During her time at A&M Consolidated, Walter led her team to three district championships and the 5A D1 State Championship title. Walter boasts 32 career goals and 31 assists. In her junior season, Walter posted 18 goals and 15 assists. The District Midfielder of the Year is also a 5A All-State Selection and twice First Team All-District. Walter is a member of Challenge SC.

Besides soccer, Walter is an athlete for her school's basketball, gymnastics, volleyball and track and field teams. In basketball, Walter is a two-time MVP. Walter is also involved in the National Honor Society, National Charity League, and Consol Cares. She also holds Academic All-District honors.

"Carson's ability to play successfully and her versatility to play in multiple positions will greatly help the program," Dempsey said. "She's a super competitive kid that played for one of the best club coaches in the country in Pat O'Toole."

Layla Washington is a defender from Buford, Georgia, and attends Buford High School. Washington is an All-Region selection and has led her team to the state playoffs three years in a row. Washington is also a member of GSA where she was named to the 2024-2025 ECNL U18/19 Southeast All-Conference Second Team.

Washington also plays on her school's basketball team.

"Layla is one of the top defenders in the Southeast," Dempsey said. "She is a player who's going to add speed to our backline, along with a real competitive mentality. Layla also comes from one of the best training environments in the country, GSA."

The eligibility of all student-athletes is contingent upon admission to Wofford College and compliance with all NCAA rules, including registration with the NCAA Eligibility Center.
