SPARTANBURG, S.C. – In a Saturday doubleheader, the Wofford College baseball team took both games of a doubleheader against Siena at Russell C. King Field. In the first game, the Terriers led 3-0 before plating four runs in the fifth inning on the way to a 10-4 victory. Siena took a 5-4 lead in the top of the fifth of game two, but Wofford scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth and three runs in the sixth inning to secure the win.

Wofford improves to 13-6 on the season, while Siena is 0-16. Wofford was led by
McClain Bradley in the first game with three hits, while
Mack Nathanson and
Lawson Hill each had three RBIs. In the second game, the Terriers set a new school record with five triples.
Brett Rodriguez and
McClain Bradley each had three hits, with
Andrew Orzel driving in three runs. The Saints had 13 hits in the first game and eleven hits in the second game, led by Brian Kelly with six combined hits.

In the first game, Siena had singles in the first and second innings. Wofford had back-to-back singles by
Max McDougald and
Colin Davis with two outs in the bottom of the second. A strikeout ended the second inning with both runners stranded. The Saints added a single in the third inning. With two outs in the bottom of the third,
McClain Bradley hit a solo home run over the fence in right field. It was his fourth home run of the season and 13
th of his career.
Mack Nathanson added a double and an RBI single from
Cody Miller gave Wofford a 2-0 lead at the end of three innings.

With two outs in the top of the fourth, Siena had a pair of singles to put runners on the corners. A line out to
Alex Malsch ended the scoring chance for the Saints.
Colin Davis had a triple with one out in the bottom of the fourth and he scored on a ground out by
Lawson Hill for a 3-0 advantage.
Alex Malsch singled and
Brett Rodriguez walked. They advanced into scoring position on a failed pickoff attempt, but a fly ball ended the inning.

The Saints were retired in order in the top of the fifth inning.
Mack Nathanson walked to lead off the bottom of the fifth and then moved to third when
Cody Miller reached on a fielding error. Miller stole second and
Colin Davis walked to load the bases with two outs. A single by
Lawson Hill drove in two runs to make it a 5-0 game. On a double steal attempt, Davis scored from third and Hill was safe at second after an error. A single by
Alex Malsch drove in Hill from second and Wofford had a 7-0 lead at the end of five innings. Â

In the top of the sixth, Siena left one runner on base.
McClain Bradley led off the bottom of the sixth with a triple and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Mack Nathanson to give the Terriers an 8-0 advantage.
Andrew Orzel added a double but was left on base at the end of the sixth frame. Siena had a single with one out in the top of the seventh. He moved to second on an error and took third on a wild pitch. A ground out plated the run for an 8-1 score.

The Terriers were retired in order to end the seventh inning. With one out in the top of the eighth, the Saints had back-to-back singles. A fielder's choice and fly ball ended the top half. In the bottom of the eighth,
McClain Bradley singled and stole second with one out. A home run to left center by
Mack Nathanson gave the Terriers a 10-1 lead. It was his sixth home run of the season and 27
th of his career. The Saints had runners on second and third with one out after a single and double in the top of the ninth. An RBI single cut the lead to 10-2. A wild pitch allowed a run to score and then an RBI single made it a 10-4 game. A strikeout ended the first contest.

Wofford pitcher
Adam Scott (3-1) threw seven innings and allowed one unearned run on six hits. He struck out six batters, giving him 297 for his career, while not issuing a walk.
David Ehmen worked an inning with two hits allowed.
Jake Dippold gave up three runs on five hits in the ninth, along with two strikeouts.

Tommy Miller (0-5) started for Siena and went five innings with eight runs allowed on ten hits, along with three strikeouts. Tom Sutera worked three innings and allowed two runs on three hits.

The second game began with the Saints scoring a run on an RBI double in the top of the first inning.
Brett Rodriguez led off the Wofford half of the first with a single and then
Mack Nathanson walked with one out. A fly ball and ground out ended the opening frame. Siena left one runner on base in the second inning after a single and the Terriers were retired in order. The Saints went in order in the top of the third frame.

Wofford opened the bottom of the third with a hit by pitch to
Alex Malsch and a single by
Brett Rodriguez. They advanced on a double steal and when
Mack Nathanson reached first on an error both runners scored to give Wofford a 2-1 lead. The Saints had runners on the corners after a pair of singles in the top of the fourth inning. A sacrifice bunt plated a run to tie the game at 2-2 and a strikeout ended the top half.
Andrew Orzel doubled to lead off the bottom of the fourth and took third on a wild pitch. A sacrifice fly by
Max McDougald put Wofford back in front at 3-2.
Colin Davis walked and then
Alec Cargin reached on a fielder's choice. A triple by
Alex Malsch scored Cargin and the Terriers had a 4-2 lead after four complete innings.

Siena had a single and a double to start the fifth inning. Joe Drpich cleared the bases with a three-run shot over the right field fence for a 5-4 advantage. The Saints added a single, but a fielder's choice ended the top half.
McClain Bradley singled to open the Wofford half of the fifth.
Mack Nathanson then hit the top of the fence in left center, but the ball bounced back into play for a double.
Cody Miller was hit by a pitch to load the bases and a triple to right center by
Andrew Orzel drove in three runs as Wofford took a 7-5 lead. Orzel then scored on a wild pitch for an 8-5 advantage.
Alec Cargin walked, moved to second on a wild pitch and took third on a balk, but a ground out ended the fifth inning.

The Saints were retired in order in the top of the sixth inning.
Brett Rodriguez tripled to start the bottom of the sixth and a triple by
McClain Bradley pushed the lead to 9-5. Bradley scored on a wild pitch for a 10-5 game.
Mack Nathanson walked and
Cody Miller singled. On a sacrifice bunt by
Andrew Orzel, an error enabled Nathanson to score and Wofford had an 11-5 advantage through six innings.

In the top of the seventh with two outs, Brian Kelly hit a solo home run for the Saints to cut the lead to 11-6. Siena left one runner on base after a walk. Wofford had a fifth triple of the game when
Alec Cargin hit one down the right field line to lead off the bottom of the seventh. He scored on a single by
Alex Malsch and
McClain Bradley added a single with one out. A fly ball advanced the runners into scoring position, but a strikeout ended the seventh with the Terriers holding a 12-6 lead.

After Siena went in order in the top of the eighth, Wofford had a single by
Colin Davis with two outs in the bottom of the eighth. In the top of the ninth, the Saints had back-to-back singles with two outs. A strikeout ended the game. Â

Grant Byers (3-1) started for the Terriers and went five innings with five runs allowed on eight hits, while striking out four.
Anthony Garcia earned his second save of the season by going the final 4.0 innings with one run allowed on three hits and six strikeouts.

Siena starting pitcher Brendan White (0-4) threw 4.2 innings with eight runs allowed on seven hits. He walked three and struck out two batters. Avery Short worked two innings and gave up four runs on six hits while striking out one batter. Danny Hobbs went the final 1.1 innings with one hit allowed and a strikeout.

The Terriers and Saints will conclude the series on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Wofford will play Gardner-Webb on Tuesday and Wednesday in a home-and-home series.
