CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Wofford women's tennis team competed in Charlotte, North Carolina over the weekend at the Queens Invitational, hosted by Queens University. Wofford was one of four teams competing in the tournament while UNC Charlotte, UNC Greensboro, and host Queens made up the rest of the teams. Wofford made their presence known at the tournament as seven different Terriers went 3-0 in singles flights on the weekend, in addition to a winner in the doubles flights. The Terriers that competed over the weekend include Jenna Vroman, Cassidy Hicks, Lilie Steryous, Kay Kluska, Alexandra Hildell, Liz Massie, Brittney Wilbur, Lauren Joch, and Annie Mayfield.Â
The Terriers won the first three consecutive singles flights as Jenna Vroman (first flight), Cassidy Hicks (second flight), and Lilie Steryous (third flight) all went 3-0 on the weekend in their singles play. Alexandra Hildell was placed in the third and fourth flights, finishing with a 2-1 record in her singles play, while Brittney Wilbur (sixth flight), Lauren Joch (eighth flight), and Annie Mayfield (ninth flight) all went 3-0 to win their flights.Â
The duo of Jenna Vroman and Cassidy Hicks won the first doubles flight, going 3-0 to add on to both players' undefeated performances on the weekend. Wofford had a very impressive weekend overall, winning 24 of 27 singles match and 7 of 12 doubles matches.Â
Next, the Terriers will return back to action in Charlotte to compete in the UNC Charlotte Invitational on October 5-6.Â
