MOUNT PLEASANT, S.C. - The Wofford men's tennis team competed in the Charleston Invitational held Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Patriots Point.
"In every category that matters, this was a fantastic event for our team," said coach
Rod Ray. "We locked in and played hard for three hot days. I'm impressed by the character and toughness that was displayed. We've got some work to do, but if we keep focused this could a rewarding time for these guys."
There were eight flights of singles and four flights of doubles. On Friday, the Wofford matches in the flight were against Coastal Carolina. During singles,
Diego Losada picked up the lone win for the Terriers. In doubles, Wofford won two of the three matches played.
During Saturday's matches against the College of Charleston,
Javi Casasolas,
Lucas Cerbelli,
Callum Rendle,
Diego Losada and
Bryce Keim picked up singles wins. In doubles, Wofford won three of the four matches.
On Sunday, the Terriers won six of the seven singles matches played in flights against Appalachian State and three of the four doubles matches.
Next, the Terriers will play in the South Carolina Intercollegiate in Belton on October 4-6.
