SPARTANBURG, S.C. –
Jack Burdell and
Jack Deveney from the Wofford College men's tennis team were named to the 2026 Academic All-District® Men's Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, which recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom.
Burdell, a sophomore from Atlanta, Georgia, played in all 19 matches this season. He had a 12-6 record in singles to lead the team in wins. In 2025, he was named to the SoCon All-Freshman team. He has also been named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
Deveney, a junior from Bearsden, Scotland, played in all 19 matches. Last season he was named All-Southern Conference second team. He was also named first team All-Southern Conference in doubles with
Robbie Young. An international affairs major, he has been named to the Southern Conference Academic Honor Roll and is an ITA Scholar-Athlete.
Academic All-District nominees must have at least a 3.30 grade point average. All honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America Team ballot, where first-, second- and third-team All-America honorees will be selected at the end of May.
