SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Wofford men's tennis team opened the fall season by hosting the Wofford UTR Tournament from Friday to Sunday at the Reeves Tennis Center. 

Jack Deveney, Jack Burdell, and Valdemar Dublin all made it into the quarterfinals of the tournament. 

Dublin faced Oriol Fillat Gimenez, from the University of Louisiana, at 10 a.m. on Friday. Gimenez won in two sets (6-2, 6-2). 

Burdell and Deveney faced off at 10 a.m. on Sunday, where Deveney won 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the semifinals. Deveney fell in the semifinals to Gunnar Loof Wettervik. 

Gimenez went on to win in the finals on Sunday morning against Wettervik.
