KANSAS CITY, Mo. (6/2/20) – The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) announced the 2020 Under Armour 30-Under-30 Team on Tuesday, with Wofford men's basketball assistant coach
Will Murphy being named to the list. The 30-Under-30 Team represents 30 of the most outstanding men's college basketball coaches under the age of 30.
"I am grateful to be included on this list of talented individuals," Murphy said. "I have been fortunate to work with accomplished coaches and driven players who make recognitions like this possible."
A graduate and former player at Wake Forest (2013), Murphy worked in various roles on the Demon Deacons' staff before joining Wofford prior to the 2017-18 season. In his first year, Murphy helped coach guards
Fletcher Magee and
Storm Murphy to Southern Conference honors, before assisting the 2018-19 squad to a 30-5 record which included a 21-0 record against SoCon opponents, a victory over Seton Hall in the NCAA Tournament, and top 20 finishes in both the Associated Press (No. 19) and USA Today Coaches Poll (No. 18).
"Will has been an outstanding member of our staff since he stepped foot on campus three years ago," said Wofford head coach
Jay McAuley. "He's the total package as an assistant in terms of being a great teacher, recruiter and relationship builder.
